WIP Wenesday!

Hi Knitters!

I am very excited to read everyone's blog and see what is on your needles!

This week has been insanely busy. Last week my family was sick so now we are trying to scramble to catch up. Work is a bit insane. I am currently writing grants, teaching, taking classes, working on graduate school recruiting for minority students and still doing my normal job of maintaining the computational research in the dept... UGH! Oh well, just a busy time of the year.

My son has a very busy schedule as well. He is now in hockey twice a week and swim lessons once a week. We also registered him for kindergarten. Wow, kindergarten... when did that happen. Truthfully, this super busy time is helpful so I do not dwell on him getting so big so fast.

I have gotten a bit farther with the baby blanket.

I have also been working on my Zigzagular socks.

Finally, this skein of Koigu sock yarn will be Campfire socks by Jacquelynn Vance-Kuss. I will adjust the pattern to fit my son's feet. He wants a pair of socks for his birthday. I love how much he loves socks!

I finished Enders Game last week. I was in shock by the twist and I felt so bad for Ender. It was a great read but I am not sure if I will continue the series. I have now moved on the the Disappearing Spoon. It looks like a super fun and relaxing read.

I am joining Ginny today!

  1. So many great projects you are working on. You are getting lots done in the midst of so much busyness! I find the kids keep us busier with their schedules than our own!

  2. Just reading about your life makes me tired!
Going off to kindergarten is more exciting than sad. It is so much fun to watch them grow and you end up meeting lots of people. I loved having kids in elementary school.
Do you work in the Chemistry Department? I have a friend who is a professor there, Judith B. Do you know her?
