Hello all. Wow, what a busy time of year for us. The past few weekends have been so busy with visitors, sick dogs, daycare issues.... and they only keep coming. This past weekend was amazing. Suzanne from MS came up to visit. I love Suzanne like a sister! She is just so outgoing, honest, sweet and good hearted. We also go to meet her husband, Braxton! Both of them treated us to a night out at a hockey game. It was so much fun!

We also attended a fund raiser to help save our daycare. The food was amazing! The colors were vibrant and the food was delicious. It was such a great day to see so many community members coming together to help save our daycare! Thanks to everyone who were apart of an amazing day!

I know I should be knitting baby blankets but I took a break and started something new. I promised Suzanne I would make her a pair of socks. The Sexy Knitter, was giving away patterns last week and I was able to get my hands on the pattern called Serleena. So far, I have started the cuff but I love the pattern. I have always had ribbed cuffs for socks and this one has a twist to the ribbing pattern which I adore. The yarn Suzanne picked out is Claudia Hand Painted Yarn in the Ingrids Blues colorway.

knitting therapy

I love knitting, even more so now. Sitting in the lobby of the animal hospital, I find myself knitting like crazy waiting for the vet to tell us what is causing our dog to be so sick. Basically, Ballack had a swollen neck mid February. We took him to our vet and they put him on antibiotics because they thought he had an infection somewhere. Within days he seemed better, not 100% but definitely better. After the antibiotics were done, within hours he got worse. We did some tests that still support an infection or a foreign object stuck in his throat. So now we are sitting anxiously waiting to hear the results of a ct scan. I am knitting to pass the time. My husband is watching tv.

My heart says he will be okay. Ballack has always had weird illness and this could be another. But the little voice in me says there is a chance its cancer. This morning the emergency vet says it is now spreading to his lymph nodes in his chest. That means the infection spread or the cancer did. If they do not find anything on the ct scan they will do a biopsy and test for cancer. This amazing dog has given so much to our family, I owe it to him to find out what is causing his illness. It may be crazy expensive but I would do it for any family member.
