Hello all! What a great weekend. We went up to Rogers, MN to visit my husband's cousin and family, and my cousin's family! Over the trip, Nolan went to the Como zoo with Big C, wrestled with Vic, played cars with Cruz and went swimming with Oliver, Harvey & Adler. We all had a great time and wish it was a bit longer. With my little man being busy with his family, M and I spent our time experimenting and dying some sock yarn!  We tried various dyes and techniques. I even tried using berries to dye yarn! The finished products are shown below.
If you ask me which one is my favorite, well, I am not sure which one I would choose. I love them all. They all look perfect for various projects. Like the white one with different color dots, well that looks perfect for a baby soaker or sweater! Can you think of any perfect projects? Since, my friend and I have so much yarn, way too much for us to knit, we are selling it. Here is what is left (because its going fast).
They skeins are 420 yards of finger weight yarn, super wash merino wool. We are offering them for $25.00 a skein with free shipping within the United States. Just leave a comment if interested and I will be in touch.

As for my knitting projects, they are coming along nicely! I finished a hat for a friend. It was the Elvira pattern by Alyssa Heath. I think it turned out pretty cute. I know she will love it and she should get it within a few days.
I have a ton of new projects on the needles. I am trying to be very dilegent and get this holiday presents done on time. They are coming along fast and looking good.

Well, its my last day off from this vacation so I am off to knit! Here is a cute picture of my son at the zoo and in the bath.

Until next time, Keep knitting my friends.

It seems like yesterday, the summer was starting and we were just getting the grill out. Now, the summer is more than half over and we are living every weekend to the fullest. Friday I picked up Nolan from daycare a bit early and headed to the local pool. We had a great time just hanging out in the water soaking up the sun. I wish I would have known about the pool earlier this summer but now that we do know we are taking full advantage of it.

My biggest fear looking back at a great weekend, is blinking and my son is grown. Time is just flying and I am trying to slow down and enjoy my bear at this sweet age. Following an exciting night at the pool, Saturday we went to Winona, MN for a family wedding. We had a great time. The bride was beautiful, the ceremony was elegant and the reception was fun! There are many kids in the family attending and this wedding was did an awesome job at accommodating. The reception had a table with coloring books, a cute grab bag fill of goodies and a jar full of glow sticks! But wait, it gets even better! The thank you gift for the guests was a candy bar table.
Cutest idea ever! Nolan was in heaven. He literally had candy for dinner and was on a complete sugar high. The sugar high was perfect for a full night of dancing! He cannot carry a beat but had a fun time running around trying to dance with all the pretty ladies :) Nolan had is first real dance with a lovely little girl. I tried to take pictures but they all came out blurry. Finally, we wrapped up our weekend with a very relaxing boat ride with my brother and sister-in-law. They took us out on their boat for the entire afternoon. We went from McFarland all the way to seeing the capital (in downtown Madison) on Lake Mendota. Perfect way to unwind and spend time with family.

As for knitting, I finished the badger socks for my mother-in-law. Hopefully, they will keep her warm for the badger games this fall. I am sending them too her in the mail this week.
I am very happy with the stripping. It was a big guess on where in the section of yarn to cast on the second sock. It worked out well and the socks match. Whew! Until next time, keep knitting.

Hello all. We are just trying to stay cool here. It has been unusual high temperatures and very humid outside. Perfect weather to stay inside and dye some yarn. Since my first time dying yarn, I have dyed two more hanks. For both hanks, I tried a stripping sock yarn. The first hank was dyed brown, blue and white.

Of course I loved these colors and tried it again with a pink instead of a blue. I sent this yarn off to a good friend. I hope she likes it.
With all of this yarn, I have a lot of knitting to do. Which makes me pretty excited.
The weather is perfect to stay inside (in the cool) and knit. Even with this hot weather, we are trying to keep our little guy, Nolan, busy. Last weekend, we enjoyed the local zoo. We went early in the morning to beat the heat. Surprisingly, the zoo was not too busy. We also went to the local pool. My son took a long time to adjust to being in the water. However, after 45 minutes he was totally having a great time and loved it. He started crying when we had to leave. I think it was an overall success. I look forward to their movie nights, of floating in the pool and watching a flick.
My husband and I took a bit of a vacation over the 4th. We are currently enjoying a 5 day stay-at-home vacation. My in-laws came down for a quick visit over the 4th. We went to the fireworks. The next morning we went out for breakfast at The Egg & I and I had my all time favorite, corn beef and hash. It was excellent. Like I said a couple of posts ago, I want to start knitting Christmas presents because I want them all done and under the tree on time. As I go to knit, I will leave you with a couple of pics of the boys. Until next time, keep knitting.
