WIP Wednesday

Hi there. As a quest to stash bust, I found another project to work on. About two years ago I start the south fork socks with tosh sock in the magnolia leaf colorway. I love them. Plus the pattern is so easy to memorize that you can literally take these socks everywhere to work on them. Happy WIP Wednesday!
I linked up with Ginny and Tamis today.

10 on 10 (sort of)

Hello there.  This past weekend we spent up in the North woods just relaxing, boating, eating and most of all being with family. It was such fulling experience to be one big family. The cousins played so well and enjoyed the time together. So my 10 on 10 today is a bit different, here is 10 pictures from the weekend. Highlights from one trip we will never forget.

More 10 on 10 here.

It's a secret

In early August, I will become an aunt for the second time. I wanted to make another baby blanket that was simple yet sweet. It is hard for me to pick out just the right pattern. I found a blog with the cutest baby blanket. The pattern looked like bricks. The pattern is called Brick Lane Baby Blanket by Annie Lupton. So hopefully this pattern will be quick and simple.
This past weekend was so much fun. My sister-in-law wanted to surprise my husband and fly home from Florida. At N's soccer game on Sunday, there they were in the crowd cheering him on. It was amazing to see their faces and just hang out as a family. We spent the evening at the hotel pool just relaxing and playing. The two cousins played so well together. I was very proud of my son playing with his cousin, he was sweet, kind and gentle with her. This just eases my concerns about them getting to know each other over a long distance.

Funny story: Last year, we grew plants from seeds. We had very little success and only one single cherry tomato. We had friends over for dinner and their son squeezed (and popped) our only tomato... He was only three and having fun. We look back and laugh. However, this year we are finally getting better success and I promised N that he could pick the first ripe strawberry. However, the same family came over and the little boy picked the first ripe strawberry of the season. Ha! What a character! So we told N he could pick the second strawberry and he was so excited.
