WIP Wednesday

I forgot my laptop at home so this blog post is an effort between my linux machine and my phone. Sorry, it may not be the best looking :(
I spent most of the holiday visiting or hosting family. I realized this holiday, while seeing family is so very important, I need alone time. I need time to think, regroup and just relax by myself. It is hard to do that when you are not at home. I started to get a little anxious but all was fine once I got home and got back into a routine.
While visiting family, knitting helped with getting some "me" time. I was able to just forget the surroundings and focus on my needles. I hope this does not come across as me not liking to see and spend time with family! I just need alone time at the end of the day. Anyways, I was able to get some serious progress done my friend baby blanket:

The pattern is a Drops pattern however, I am following the written instructions by Matrunda on Ravelry. I would never have selected the pattern myself. Would not have seen it's true beauty from the pictures on Ravelry. My friend choose this pattern to make her niece. I fell in love with how it turned out and wanted to try it for myself.
I just finished the novel, The Silkworm. It was not as good as the first novel in the Corman Strike series, yet still good. I started Ender's game last night. I love sci-fi books so hopefully this will be awesome!

Happy knitting.

  1. I think we all need some alone time. It means we can give more to others. I love the pattern and the yarn you've chosen, they are both really pretty.

  3. It's a lovely blanket. I love the different stitch patterns. I read that knitting or crochet relaxes the mind because you have to count and therefore cannot think about other things! I should be knitting all the time......

  4. I know just what you mean about needing alone time! I get very cranky when I don't get a good dose of "me" time (and it's hard to come by in my current life, so I'm cranky a lot!). I like the idea of knitting helping shut out the world around you. I'll have to see if that works for me, too! That blanket is beautiful!
