WIP Wednesday

Thank goodness for knitting.

I found an extremely cute pattern on another blog a few weeks back and my heart skipped a beat.  Caffeine Girl posted her new project Quicksilver. Thankfully, I had most of the yarn necessary in my stash. I decided to try Madeline Tosh Light and Malbrigo yarns together. (Yes, my truck repairs are paid off thank goodness, I was a good girl). At The Knitting Tree, the sales person told me the base yarn is the exact same therefore only the colors vary. I went with the colors white, gray and a blue. (Sorry I left the tags in my truck and I do not know the exact colors!)

I love how the project is coming along. However, I have to be good. My friend is only 5 weeks away from her due date and I need to finish the baby blanket! Hopefully, this Friday you will see a blog post of a finished baby blanket!
My husband and I rarely exchange gifts. We are on a budget like most and just find our time together is more valuable then items. He knows how much I adore Sherlock the tv series and knitting and therefore decided I could not live without this special skein of Into the Whirl sock yarn, 221B colorway. I am so excited to cast on. This yarn is so soft and simply elegant. I am trying to find the perfect sock pattern for skein so I can wear socks and watch Sherlock!! I am thrilled just thinking about it!
I started a new novel this week, Parched. It is a SciFi book about mystical creatures and vampires. I am not sure why but I love vampire love stories. Yes, my reading habits are similar to a 13 year old girl but its fun and I find it so relaxing so please don't judge me too harshly.
I cannot wait to see what is on everyone's needles today! I am linking up with Ginny!

  1. Wow - Way to go husband! That yarn is amazing! My husband got me two bags of Lindt Lindor Dark Chocolate truffles for V-day. He has good taste as well. :)

  4. You are putting me to shame! You are farther on that shawl than I am. It takes more concentration than I've had lately. But I do want to get back to it.
I have no interest in vampire books, but there's no judgment. Reading that makes you happy is all good!
