It's a secret

In early August, I will become an aunt for the second time. I wanted to make another baby blanket that was simple yet sweet. It is hard for me to pick out just the right pattern. I found a blog with the cutest baby blanket. The pattern looked like bricks. The pattern is called Brick Lane Baby Blanket by Annie Lupton. So hopefully this pattern will be quick and simple.
This past weekend was so much fun. My sister-in-law wanted to surprise my husband and fly home from Florida. At N's soccer game on Sunday, there they were in the crowd cheering him on. It was amazing to see their faces and just hang out as a family. We spent the evening at the hotel pool just relaxing and playing. The two cousins played so well together. I was very proud of my son playing with his cousin, he was sweet, kind and gentle with her. This just eases my concerns about them getting to know each other over a long distance.

Funny story: Last year, we grew plants from seeds. We had very little success and only one single cherry tomato. We had friends over for dinner and their son squeezed (and popped) our only tomato... He was only three and having fun. We look back and laugh. However, this year we are finally getting better success and I promised N that he could pick the first ripe strawberry. However, the same family came over and the little boy picked the first ripe strawberry of the season. Ha! What a character! So we told N he could pick the second strawberry and he was so excited.

  3. Oh wow, that blanket is going to be beautiful. The pattern does look hard, but then I am so NOT a knitter no matter how hard I try.

  4. Quick and easy huh ? Well six rows to get the lace pattern doesn't sound bad at all. I may try it. Yours is beautiful.
